Four weeks after Isles of Abyss put Once Human bases on the water, Starry Studio has announced that Season 5, Dissonant Resonance, launches globally on November 19, 2026. The survival game stays free to play on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android. The group content is a four-player raid. The release says nothing about dedicated servers or crossplay.
Four slots is the number to plan around. A crew of six sends two squads or sits two people out, and our server has had that argument before.
How a pipe organ runs a boss fight
The season is built on sound. A pipe-organ colossus hangs in the sky all season, and Starry says its expressions and movements change with what players do. On the ground, Anomaly Zones themed on Joy, Rage, Sorrow and Fear change the loop. Monsters drop musical notes when they die. Shoot the notes and they play pitch-tuned audio, and collect them and you can rearrange corrupted scores into melodies that grant buffs. The right melody can open a rift, and the rift leads to the raid.
Inside, the colossus changes the music, and the squad has to break the melody "before the deadly track concludes." One job is sprinting to silence Resonating Pipes in a ruined cathedral. The other is flying aerial vehicles through Resonating Cavities in the sky. "Players aren't just surviving a boss fight," the studio writes, "they are conducting it." Conducting, they say. With four people on voice chat, I would settle for everyone finding the same pipe.
The release does not say how a squad splits those two jobs, so the first attempt is also the planning meeting. Also due November 19 is the Silent Statue, a new combat Deviant that starts as a gray ruin. It absorbs elemental energy during fights and can give the whole squad an elemental blessing once unlocked.
A settled crew will also want to know what happens to the base. Wikipedia's entry says Once Human servers reset on a timer, while characters and high-end items are saved in Eternaland, a player-owned island, with limits on what comes back out. The release does not say how Season 5 handles the move, so I would not get attached to anything built this month.
The limited-time Nailoong crossover is live now if the group wants something lighter until then. It has a Disco Light on login, dance emotes, a group dance party and something called a tummy battle on the event island (adds it to the Friday poll). Once Human is free on Steam and everywhere else, so get four names on the sign-up sheet for November 19.
