Look Outside comes to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on October 30, 2026, Devolver Digital announced on Friday. The turn-based survival horror RPG has been on Steam for PC since March 21, 2025, where it sells for $9.99. Console prices have not been announced, and neither has a physical edition.
Something has happened to the sky. Anyone who looks at it turns into a monster, so Sam stays inside his apartment building for fifteen days and does not look. Other residents are still in the building with him. That is where I stop.
The RPG Maker horror family Look Outside comes from
Francis Coulombe, a Canadian artist and animator, made Look Outside in RPG Maker. Before it, he drew sprites for Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden at Tales of Game’s Studios and spent about ten years on Malison: The Cursed City. The engine has its own horror family. kouri’s Ib came out as freeware in 2012, made in RPG Maker 2000, and went on to influence The Witch’s House and Omori.
Look Outside is the member of that family that fights back. Its battles take turns the way EarthBound’s do, with weapons that wear out and a mechanic for how far away an enemy stands. Every window in Sam’s building is a choice not to look, and the battles start when something looks back.
It did well on PC. OpenCritic reports that 94% of critics recommend it, and RPG Site put it in its top five RPGs of 2025. In April, a PC Gamer headline by Jody Macgregor still called it “my favorite cosmic horror RPG.” Coulombe kept building after launch. The free Final Vision 2.0 update on October 28, 2025, added new endings, monsters, quests, bosses, areas and a Cursed challenge mode. Version 2.3 followed on April 15, 2026.
Devolver’s post does not say which version the consoles get. Shipping the March 2025 build would be odd, but nobody has said otherwise, and the PC game is now a larger building than the one reviewers first walked into.
Devolver has been telling people not to look since March 2025. On October 30, there are four more windows to not look out of.
