Radiation Blue and Snail Games USA say Dead Party launches on October 29, 2026, and it plays four people in online or split-screen co-op. Bring the whole Friday crew, couch included.
It comes out for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with console versions due in the weeks after, and there’s no price yet. The store page lists online co-op and shared-screen co-op, but it says nothing about dedicated servers or crossplay, so those two questions stay open until launch.
Dead Party is a follow-up to Dead Block, the 2011 zombie barricade game from Candygun Games, and Radiation Blue lists Dead Block among the games its team has shipped. Dead Block had you board up the doors and windows of a 1950s safehouse and scavenge the building for traps and power-ups, all to a rock soundtrack. Its four-player mode was split-screen only, and critics at the time knocked it for having no online play. The new one fixes the first thing our group would have asked about.
Boards, traps and a guitar in Shady Hill
The setup is Halloween in the town of Shady Hill, where UFOs show up overhead and the dead climb out of their graves. Each stage hands your team a building to hold against waves of undead. You break objects for materials, put up barricades, lay traps and patch the defense as new zombie types and map layouts force a change of plan. When it all goes wrong, somebody grabs a guitar, because music-based abilities push the horde back.
Story Mode follows four characters, each with their own abilities, weaknesses, gear and storyline. Outside the story there are four modes. Stage Equipment has you defend with stage gear and the power of music. Antenna has you power generators that jam the invaders with radio waves. Skull Cannon turns collected zombie skulls into ammo against the UFOs. Horde drops the escape plan and counts how long the team lasts.
That reads like a weekend game for a group: wave defense across a story and four modes, with no base to tend for months. Horde is the mode I’d expect a crew to come back to once the story is done.
An expanded demo is on Steam now, ahead of Steam Next Fest, and it adds a Museum stage that unlocks after you clear the other story stages. Round up three friends for it this weekend, then decide whether Dead Party goes in the Friday poll for the 29th.
