Castlebound, the co-op action platformer from Mexican studio Ogre Pixel, launches on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, Ogre Pixel announced. Its last two games were a coyote adventure and a sticker story, so I did not expect trolls and dragons next. It is coming to PC through Steam and to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, with no price announced yet.
Lenora, an archer, and her grandfather Vargus wake up a bewitched castle, and the castle stands up and walks. Your job is to defend it from forest creatures, ghosts, giant trolls and dragons, alone or with up to three friends. Lenora shoots arrows, Vargus casts magic, Garrik fights like a knight and Quinn brings a slingshot.
It is a roguelite, so runs end, and when the party falls, you spend Soul Coins inside the castle on upgrades and new abilities, then head back out. Director Steve Durán said the team “blended tower-defense and roguelite combat.” That is the part I want to see more of, because guarding a castle that walks is a different job from guarding one that sits still.
Before you plan a co-op night, know that the Steam page lists shared and split-screen co-op plus Remote Play Together, and it does not confirm online play. For now, this is a couch game, or a Remote Play one.
The adventure runs through mythical forests, ghostly graveyards, bone-dry deserts and volcanoes, all drawn in hand-made 2D. Durán compares the look to pop-up books. In the Steam screenshots, every hero and monster has a thick white outline, like a sticker cut from a sheet. That reads to me like a habit carried over from A Tiny Sticker Tale.
Ogre Pixel is based in Aguascalientes and was founded by Durán in 2014. It made Lonesome Village in 2022 and A Tiny Sticker Tale in 2023, and its Apple Arcade game Jumper Jon reached more than 500,000 players. The release does not say how big the team is. It does say Castlebound was fully funded on Kickstarter within four hours of the campaign going live, which means a lot of people already trusted this studio with a swerve.
It launches in nine languages, including Spanish, Japanese, Korean and both forms of Chinese. If you want to try it first, there is a free demo on the Steam page now.
