Steam Now Markets Development Software

Steam, the online PC game store, has recently opened up its virtual shelves to software. So far, only seven development programs, but among them is YoYo Game’s notable GameMaker: Studio: a simple tool for making games for HTML5, iOS, Android, and the normal desktop. And since it has Steam Workshop support, work can be shared with other Steam users who also own the Studio, which may prove to be an extremely smart move.

The seven programs are:

  • 3D-Coat
  • 3DMark Vantange
  • 3DMark 11 (Benchmarking tool)
  • ArtRage Studio Pro
  • CameraBag 2
  • GameMaker: Studio
  • Source: Filmmaker (Free)

With Steam, this means simple installation and management, and Steam Cloud so files can be accessed from different computers.
