Death Kumiai and publisher Flashlight Games announced on October 7 that Annihilated, a roguelite RPG with turn-based card battles, launches on Steam on November 10, 2026. It costs $16.99 or 17.25 EUR, with 10% off for the first two weeks, and it is PC only for now.
The premise is a lifeboat with one seat. A legendary Hero’s party went into a cursed dungeon and never came back. You are the last of the rescue team sent after them, and you have no fighting strength of your own. To survive, you borrow it from the broken heroes you find down there. Only one of them leaves with you.
That choice is the structure. Each of the four routes follows a different survivor, and each ends its own way. The fights are turn-based card battles with timing presses, and a weapon can be broken on purpose for a short boost. Even defeat pays out, in curse points that buy items and stats. All of it hangs on a 200,000-word script, which is visual novel length rather than dungeon crawler length.

Lead artist and writer Sabotenshi lists the influences without hedging. Fire Emblem, Super Mario RPG, Undertale and The Legend of Zelda are named, along with “JRPGs circa 2010” and light novels. Fire Emblem is the telling one. That series made permanent loss part of how you manage a party, and Annihilated takes the idea one step further, making the loss the whole premise. Undertale is there in the timing presses, and in the habit of making a cute face carry something heavy.
Annihilated has been a while reaching the dock. RPGamer covered its February announcement, which came with a limited-time demo. The game was then set for July 22, until the team moved it to the fourth quarter to tune the feel and the battle balance. RPG Site reported that it had already passed Steam’s review when that call was made. The trailer Flashlight Games still links to carries the old July date in its title, so do not let it confuse you.
What broke the Hero’s party is what each route reveals. That is where I stop.
Four broken heroes, one seat in the boat, and November 10 on Steam to decide who gets it.
