The Mass Effect Series Gets A Trilogy Release

If you’re a Mass Effect fan, you already have your calenders marked and you’re waiting on the edge of your seats for the release of the whole complete trilogy to be released for PC and Xbox. Unfortunately, PSN users are going to have to wait a little longer, as seems to be the case for several games on this platform lately.

However there’s a problem with this little situation, and no, it has nothing to do with the PlayStation Network. It has to do with DLC, Economics, and Logic. Both the PC and Xbox trilogies will cost about $60 plus tax, which isn’t that bad of a price! However, PC users will find that their box set comes with new downloadable content for Mass Effect (Bring Down The Sky and Pinnacle Station); Xbox users will have to purchase it through the Xbox Live Marketplace! In Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, both the PC and Xbox users will have to purchase the downloadable content through their respective stores (Overlord, Stolen Memory, and Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2, and Leviathan for ME3). The reasoning behind the price difference is unclear as of now, and BioWare hasn’t released any explanation.

When it comes to the PS3 version, not much information has been released. It’s unknown how the downloadable content will work for the PS3, but one can assume it will have to be bought in the PlayStation Store. One can hope information will be released as soon as possible.
